Basics of functional medicine
Functional medicine is a patient-centered, holistic approach that focuses on the causes of disease rather than simply treating its symptoms. It is based on the belief that health is not merely the absence of disease, but a dynamic balance between the body's various interrelated systems. Ultimately, it is a new term for therapeutic approaches such as regulatory medicine.
Humans are viewed as a unity of body, mind, and environment. Factors such as lifestyle, nutrition, stress, sleep, exercise, and emotional health therefore play a crucial role. Individual patient needs are addressed through personalized treatment plans that incorporate genetic, biochemical, and environmental factors.
Functional medicine places great emphasis on prevention and aims to prevent diseases before they occur.
In this webinar, you will learn the fundamentals and principles of functional medicine, the role of the extracellular matrix, and factors that can lead to regulatory blockages. This provides an initial overview from which further training can then be developed depending on your interests.
