Gastrointestinal System & Cell Metabolism – An Interconnected System

The gastrointestinal system encompasses far more than just the intestines: it begins in the oral mucosa and extends through the stomach, pancreas, liver & gallbladder, and into the entire digestive tract. All these areas work closely together and are continuously involved in taking in, processing & providing nutrients from food.

At the same time, the tissues involved are particularly active: mucous membranes & cells within this system are constantly renewing themselves. In particular, the intestinal mucosa has a high renewal rate and is completely regenerated approximately every 3–5 days. This highlights how relevant the continuous availability of suitable building blocks is for the body – because the quality of the absorbed nutrients is directly related to the processes of cell renewal & function.

The basis of this constant cell regeneration is DNA synthesis – a process for which nucleotides are required as central building blocks. Nucleotides are components of DNA & RNA and play an important role in cell division as well as in structural & metabolic processes in the body. Although they can be produced by the body itself, they are also absorbed through diet. Particularly high amounts are found primarily in foods such as liver, kidney, or meat, while plant-based sources provide significantly smaller quantities.

In parallel, the daily intake of fiber also plays a central role in a balanced diet. The German Nutrition Society (DGE) recommends around 30 g of fiber per day – a value that is often not achieved in everyday life.

Against this background, it can be beneficial to consciously integrate both fiber-rich components and specifically selected nutrients like nucleotides into the diet to holistically supplement the interplay within the gastrointestinal system.

Flora Total – Fiber, Bitter Substances & Nucleotides Combined in One Formula

Our MITOcare Flora Total combines 34 high-quality nutrients & plant compounds into a holistic complex that considers various areas of the gastrointestinal system in their function – from mouth & stomach to liver & gallbladder to the intestines.

The focus is on a combination of fiber-rich & partly bitter plant substances such as inulin, acacia fiber, beta-glucan, gluten-free oat bran, as well as artichoke, turmeric & milk thistle seeds. This variety provides a broad plant-based foundation and supplements the daily diet with 7.95g of fiber per daily dose.

A special highlight is the included vegan nucleotide complex from brewer's yeast, which together with zinc can support cell renewal¹.

Also noteworthy is the use of Human Milk Oligosaccharides (2’-Fucosyllactose / Difucosyllactose) – complex carbohydrates that also naturally occur in breast milk, thus representing a particularly functional component of the formula.

In Flora Total, our sugar alternative D-Tagatose, known from other MITOcare products, is also specifically used. It can contribute to tooth mineralization⁶ and, together with biotin, which can support the mucous membranes², places a targeted focus on the mouth area as the beginning of the gastrointestinal tract.

The formulation is rounded off by specifically used micronutrients: Natural vitamin C from acerola can contribute to cell protection⁸ as well as – together with zinc – to the immune system⁷. Additionally, Flora Total provides choline, which can support liver³, fat⁵ & homocysteine metabolism⁴.

Complexly Conceived, Precisely Implemented – Quality According to the Causa Logica Principle

The particular strength of Flora Total lies in its deliberately complex formula – precisely this synergistic approach corresponds to the Causa Logica Principle: Instead of isolated individual substances, the focus is on the targeted combination of diverse, coordinated ingredients.

In terms of quality, Flora Total also sets clear standards: The formula does not contain household sugar and is instead rounded off in taste with D-tagatose and real vanilla. A small amount of maltodextrin is included exclusively for the flowability of the nucleotide mixture and thus fulfills a technological function within the formula.

Only high-quality raw materials are used, including gluten-free oat bran. The development is carried out by our in-house doctors & nutritional scientists and is accompanied by regular laboratory analyses to ensure consistently high quality & purity.

The composition is deliberately reduced to the essentials: without unnecessary fillers or excipients – with a focus on a meaningful, synergistic combination of high-quality ingredients.
