MITOchoc 45% – Premium chocolate with Chuncho cocoa from Peru
MITOchoc , with 45% cocoa, was created in close collaboration with Meybol Cacao – a renowned company considered one of the leading producers of premium cocoa in Peru. Meybol Cacao sources the famous "mother of all cocoas" – Chuncho cocoa, known for its exceptional quality, complex flavor, and origin from the historic cocoa-growing regions of the Amazon basin.
The bean-to-bar processing method, a continuous production process where all steps from the cocoa bean to the finished bar are handled in-house, preserves the cocoa's natural aromas and allows for a particularly clear and intense flavor profile. The cocoa beans come from controlled growing regions in Peru and, after harvesting, are fermented, gently dried, and processed in small batches.
Furthermore, the chocolate naturally contains flavonoids – bioactive plant compounds that contribute to the characteristic cocoa flavor. Meybol Cacao has stood for outstanding quality and sustainability for years and has received numerous international awards – including at the International Chocolate Awards, where its chocolates have been among the best in Germany since 2018.
Instead of classic table sugar , MITOchoc is sweetened with the alternative sugars tagatose and galactose. These are characterized by a lower glycemic index compared to table sugar. Tagatose also contains significantly fewer calories than conventional sugar. The combination of 45% premium cocoa, a carefully balanced milk content, and the mild sweetness of tagatose and galactose results in a well-balanced, creamy chocolate with a smooth texture and aromatic finish.
