Our virgin organic linseed oil is made from high-quality, organically grown linseed. The linseed comes from controlled organic cultivation, preferably from regional sources, and is supplemented by Naturland-certified organic linseed from selected growing regions in Europe and overseas. Gentle cold-pressing takes place in Germany immediately after harvest to preserve freshness and valuable ingredients as best as possible. Cold-pressing at temperatures below 40°C optimally preserves the heat-sensitive omega-3 fatty acid ALA. The oil is then filtered to remove natural residues without compromising purity and quality.
The freshly milled linseed oil is bottled in a light-protected container, which prevents oxidation and extends shelf life. The result is a clear, mildly nutty linseed oil with a pleasant, bitter flavor—a sign of the highest quality and freshness.

Flaxseed oil is a rich, plant-based source of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) – an essential omega-3 fatty acid that the human body cannot produce itself and therefore must be obtained through food. ALA plays a key role in metabolism and contributes to maintaining normal blood cholesterol levels. 1 It is not only an important component of cell membranes but also serves as a biochemical precursor for the long-chain omega-3 fatty acids EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) in the body.

Our mill-fresh, virgin organic linseed oil offers a balanced spectrum of eight different fatty acids, preserved in their natural form through gentle, organic processing. It's ideal for cold dishes—for example, as an ingredient in salad dressings, muesli, or smoothies—but should not be used for frying due to its sensitivity to oxidation.

What does “virgin linseed oil” actually mean?

“Native” means natural & untreated. A virgin linseed oil is exclusively by gentle cold pressing out of linseed won – without heat, chemical additives or refining.

This natural production method preserves the sensitive omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins and secondary plant substances that make linseed oil so valuable. The result is a pure, aromatic oil with a high proportion of α-linolenic acid (ALA)– ideal for supporting a balanced diet.

What is the daily dose and how can I take linseed oil?

We recommend about 2 teaspoons (approx. 6 g) our native organic linseed oil as part of a balanced diet to consume.

Linseed oil has a pleasantly mild, nutty taste and can be integrated into your daily diet in many ways – for example:

  • for refining salads, bowls or cold dishes
  • over cooked vegetables, potatoes or quark
  • in smoothies, yogurt or porridge
  • or simply pure on the spoon

Important: Linseed oil should not heated to protect the sensitive Omega-3 fatty acids to obtain.

The included Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) contributes to maintaining normal blood cholesterol levels* (*A positive effect is achieved with a daily intake of at least 2g ALA)

How pure and high-quality is MITOcare Native Organic Linseed Oil?

Our organic virgin linseed oil is made from high-quality, organically grown linseed. The flax seeds come from controlled organic farming, preferably from regional sources in Germany and Europe, supplemented by Naturland-certified organic linseed from selected growing areas in Europe and overseas.

The gentle cold pressing takes place in Germany immediately after the harvest, to freshness, aroma and valuable ingredients. Through the pressing at temperatures below 40°C remain the heat-sensitive omega-3 fatty acids, especially the Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), optimally preserved. The oil is then carefully filtered to remove natural residues without damaging the purity or quality to impair.

The mill-fresh bottling occurs protected from light to prevent oxidation and extend shelf life. The result is a clear, mild-nutty linseed oil with a pleasant, non-bitter taste – a real sign of highest quality and freshness.

Linseed oil is one of the richest plant sources of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA)- one essential omega-3 fatty acid that the body cannot produce itself. ALA is important for the metabolism and contributes to maintaining normal blood cholesterol levels. She is also a biochemical precursor of long-chain omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA, which are important for many bodily functions, such as heart, brain, and cell health.

Our mill-fresh, virgin organic linseed oil offers a balanced spectrum of eight different fatty acids, which, thanks to the gentle processing in their natural form. It is ideal for the cold kitchen– for example in salad dressings, muesli, smoothies or quark dishes – however, due to its oxidation sensitivity not for frying be used.

As organic certified premium product each batch regularly tested by independent laboratories– among others on heavy metals, pesticides and other pollutants. This way we guarantee a pure, safe and high-quality linseed oil which supplies the body with valuable omega-3 fatty acids every day.

*A positive effect is achieved with a daily intake of at least 2g of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA)

What is the difference to other linseed oils?

Our organic virgin linseed oil is 100% organic, cold-pressed, and bottled fresh from the mill – for the highest quality and maximum nutrient density.

In contrast to many conventional linseed oils from the supermarket, which are often refined, heated to high temperatures or stored for a long time, our oil bottled immediately after pressing, protected from light. This prevents oxidation and keeps the oil fresh, aromatic, and stable in its fatty acid structure. Many industrial oils quickly lose quality due to long storage times or improper bottling and can become rancid – recognizable by their bitter taste and unpleasant odor.

Our gently cold-pressed linseed oil preserves the full fatty acid profile – especially the valuable Omega-3 fatty acid Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA).

Already a daily portion of 2 teaspoons (approx. 6g) delivers around 3g ALA- that is more than enough to maintaining normal blood cholesterol levels to contribute.* (*The positive effect is achieved with a daily intake of at least 2g ALA)

The result is a mild, nutty, fresh linseed oil that impresses with its purity, stability, and pleasantly rounded flavor – a true sign of quality that comes from a mill-fresh production.

How long does linseed oil last after opening?

Once opened, the linseed oil should be stored in the refrigerator and consumed within 6-8 weeks.
